Description

Chocolate dipped Rice Krispie treats are a delightful twist on the classic dessert! These sweet, crispy bars are coated in smooth, melted chocolate and can be customized with sprinkles, nuts, or drizzle for any occasion. Quick, easy, and perfect for parties, gifts, or just a sweet treat to enjoy at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Rice Krispie Treats:
    • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
    • 4 cups mini marshmallows
    • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • For the Chocolate Dip:
    • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
    • 1 tbsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother melting)
  • Optional Toppings:
    • Sprinkles, crushed nuts, or shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Rice Krispie Treats:
    • Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
    • Remove from heat and gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
    • Press the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan. Allow it to cool and set for 30 minutes, then cut into bars.
  2. Melt the Chocolate:
    • Place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Add coconut oil if using.
    • Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Dip the Treats:
    • Dip each Rice Krispie treat halfway into the melted chocolate. Let excess chocolate drip off.
    • Place the dipped treats on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Add Toppings (Optional):
    • Sprinkle your desired toppings on the chocolate before it sets.
  5. Let Them Set:
    • Allow the treats to cool completely at room temperature or place them in the fridge for faster setting.

Notes

  • Use white chocolate or dark chocolate for variety.
  • Add food coloring to the chocolate for festive-themed treats.
  • Store dipped treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
