  • Author: Elijah
  • Total Time: 25 minutes

Description

This Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel is the ultimate breakfast sandwich! Juicy steak, a perfectly fried egg, and melted cheese are layered on a toasted bagel for a hearty, flavorful, and filling start to your day. Perfect for a weekend brunch or an indulgent breakfast treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Steak:
    • 6 oz steak (sirloin or ribeye recommended)
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
    • 1/4 tsp onion powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Egg:
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 tbsp butter
  • For the Bagel Sandwich:
    • 2 bagels, sliced and toasted
    • 2 slices of cheddar or American cheese
    • 1 tbsp mayonnaise or preferred sauce (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Steak:
    • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
    • Season the steak with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until desired doneness is reached. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
  • Cook the Eggs:
    • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny, or cook longer if you prefer fully cooked yolks.
  • Assemble the Bagel Sandwiches:
    • Spread mayonnaise or sauce on the toasted bagel halves if desired.
    • Layer the bottom half with steak slices, a fried egg, and a slice of cheese. Place the top half of the bagel on top to finish the sandwich.
  • Serve:
    • Serve immediately with a side of fruit, hash browns, or coffee for a complete breakfast.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the steak in soy sauce, garlic, and black pepper for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Swap cheddar or American cheese with Swiss or provolone for a different flavor profile.
  • Leftover steak works perfectly for this recipe, saving time in the morning.
